Stripe Connect setup.

Stripe Connect is how every cent of every ticket sale lands in your bank account. out4 doesn't hold or touch the money — Stripe charges the buyer, deducts processing, and routes the rest straight to you.

Updated May 16, 2026

Why

We don't want to be your bank.

Holding money for tens of thousands of events is a job for a payment processor — not an events platform. Stripe Connect lets us route ticket sales directly to your account without ever sitting in our books.

How a ticket sale moves

BuyerPays $30Stripe−$1.17 feePromoterReceives $28.83OUT4 TAKES $0

Concretely: when a buyer pays $30 for a ticket, Stripe charges their card $30, takes its 2.9% + $0.30 processing fee (about $1.17), and deposits the remaining $28.83 into your Stripe Connect account. out4 takes $0. There is no platform service fee.

Stripe's processing fee is the same rate you'd pay if you set up Stripe yourself outside out4 — we don't mark it up. Pricing is on the pricing page if you want the official source-of-truth statement.

Setup

Onboarding, step by step.

The whole flow takes about 5 minutes if you have a bank account number and a government ID handy.

  1. 1
Open Settings → Payments. You'll see your Stripe Connect status (one of Not started, Pending verification, Onboarded).
  2. 2
Tap Connect with Stripe. You're handed off to Stripe's hosted onboarding — it covers business type (individual / LLC / nonprofit), the address, an ID upload, and your bank account.
  3. 3
When Stripe finishes verifying you (usually instant; rarely up to a business day) you bounce back to out4 with a green Verified chip. You can now publish paid events and sell tickets.

Heads up

Use a real legal name + address
Stripe runs identity checks against the legal name and address you enter. If they don't match (typo, stage name vs real name, etc.), Stripe holds the account in pending verification and we can't release payouts. Double-check before you submit.

The badge

What the Verified chip means.

A small green chip on your dashboard + the public event page. Buyers see it as a trust signal.

The chip appears once Stripe finishes onboarding and your account is in onboarded state. It does two concrete things:

Buyer-facing trust signal

The badge shows next to your org name on every event page. Without it, the event still works for free tickets but the checkout button is disabled with a note that paid tickets are on the way.

Unlocks the Stripe dashboard link

Once verified, the Payments page surfaces a Open Stripe dashboard link. That deep-links into Stripe's express dashboard where you can see payouts, download tax forms, change your bank account, and chat with Stripe support directly.

Payouts

How and when money actually arrives.

Stripe handles the payout schedule, so it matches whatever country / industry default they apply. For US accounts that's typically every 2 business days.

When a buyer completes checkout, the funds settle into your Stripe Connect balance within a few hours. Stripe then runs a payout to your linked bank account on a rolling schedule. You can change the cadence (daily / weekly / monthly) from your Stripe dashboard's Payout schedule setting.

Note

Where to see balances + payouts
The fastest path: Dashboard → Settings → Payments → Open Stripe dashboard. The out4 dashboard surfaces a simplified view at Dashboard → Payouts, but the Stripe dashboard is the source of truth.

Warning

Don't try to test with a real card
out4's staging environment uses Stripe test mode. Hitting production with a real card costs you the processing fee even if you immediately refund. To test the flow end-to-end without spending money, use a Stripe test card (4242 4242 4242 4242) in staging.

Multiple orgs

One Stripe account per organization.

If you run multiple promoter brands or a venue and a personal account, each one connects its own Stripe account.

Each organization on out4 has its own Stripe Connect account. When you switch orgs in the dashboard, the Payments page shows that org's connection status independently. This keeps revenue cleanly separated for tax purposes and is necessary if two orgs have different legal entities.

Tip

If you don't see the org you expect on the Payments page, check the org picker in the top-left of the dashboard — you might be looking at a different one.
